Customs Payment & Brexit
Cheshire Antiques Consultant operates on a Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis which means that the International buyer is responsible for any import duties, taxes & customs which may be necessary to release an order from international customs.
Following the UK leaving the EU on 1st January 2021 (BREXIT) there have been some changes to customs & duty charges for EU customers. Tax and import duty varies from country to country so we recommend you check with your local tax office to see if any fees will be payable.
If the customer refuses to pay any duty and customs charges and the parcel is returned to sender all outbound and return shipping charges will be deducted from any refund.

As specialist's in selling fine art, antiques & collectibles, Cheshire Antiques Consultant is eligible and uses the UK Vat margin scheme. Where the reduced UK Vat margin rate of 16.67% or one sixth is applied to invoices for UK based buyer to consumers and qualifying UK buyer to business's, who are eligible to use the UK vat margin scheme. Exports shipped outside the European Union are Zero rated. Without prejudice all of our stock item descriptions are solely our opinion, whilst every effort has been made to provide accurate information, errors and omissions may occur. Consequently Cheshire Antiques Consultant accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage that may result directly or indirectly from any advise or descriptions, opinions & information, representation or omission, whether negligent or not, contained on this site. Changes or updates to the content of this site may occur without any prior notice. Full cleared  payment must be made and received by our bank in advance before any item can be shipped or released over to any collecting courier or collecting in person.


We accept returns our policy lasts for 14 days from the moment you receive delivery. We no not charge a restocking fee.If more than 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. All Outbound & Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer to pay and these costs will be deducted from any refund amount. Also any express, next day or enhanced, specialised delivery costs will not be refunded and will be charged to the buyer. If you miss your scheduled delivery day you will be responsible for paying for any further outbound delivery attempt charges, or if the item does not fit through your door or does not fit through your interior area you will be responsible for paying return costs, these charges will be deducted from your purchase amount so you are aware thankyou.

Sales, Reduced to Clear Purchases & Make an offer 

All Sale and discounted, make an offer items are non refundable.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

Deposit payments are non refundable.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds may be granted (if applicable)  
Book with obvious signs of use
CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened
Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
Any item that is returned more than 14 days after delivery

Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card bank or PayPal company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges & upgrades (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver will find out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item(s). If we have to arrange for the returned item(s) to be collected from you, we will charge you for the total shipping costs for the item(s) being collected depending on where you live. Express, enhanced or any specialised delivery service shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund amount, the total cost of any express, enhanced or specialised outbound & inbound return shipping will be deducted from your refund. The  refund amount will exclude these delivery costs. The time it may take for your exchanged or upgraded product to reach you, may vary. Any import duty taxes paid to customs is not our responsibility and is the buyers responsibility.

If you are returning shipping an item over £50 pounds sterling in value, you must use a trackable shipping service & purchase shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
