The painting surface is in such excellent condition due to it being protected by a glass cover on the front.
The frame has very recently been overpainted with gilt paint.
Having some noticeable wear & repairs to the frame, scuffs & chips to the frame also foxing staining on the back commensurate with usage & age. With some scratches, smears, scuffs & stains to the front glass cover.
