This extraordinary sculpture from circa 1920 is a gilt bronze Italian sporting pacing Bay Hunter horse, heavily influenced by sixteenth-century artist Giambologna style. A feature that particular stand out is the pacing posed movement of the horse also the mane and tail also hooves which are so ornate showing off the ormolu gilt detail which is exceptional.

This horse represents an influenced style movement of the pacing horse sculpture by Giambolgna, which was first created at the end of the 16th century and thought to have been further influenced by some of Leonardo Di Vinci's drawings.

This model captures contour and form that is characteristic of Giambologna's early bronzes. The most famous of which, which was originally part of the Torrie Collection is now housed in the University of Edinburgh.
