This horse represents an influenced style movement of the pacing horse sculpture by Giambolgna, which was first created at the end of the 16th century and thought to have been further influenced by some of Leonardo Di Vinci's drawings.
This model captures contour and form that is characteristic of Giambologna's early bronzes. The most famous of which, which was originally part of the Torrie Collection is now housed in the Univeristy of Edinburgh.
