Your focus is drawn to the curved grey stone arched bridge that crosses the river Leven, its winter time as the trees and grass vegetation to the right and left are bare and dark brown in colour. The bridge is reflected in the water below. In the background is the beautiful architectural view of the known Swan Hotel, it has a white painted facade which has many small windows and 1 large window to the left. Above is the back sign with white lettering showing Swan Hotel. Above further windows situated along the grey tiled roof. with a light blue and cloudy sky above.
On the River Leven at the southern end of Lake Windermere, this luxe hotel was built circa 1623 building with 18th-century additions is connected to the A590 by the Newby Bridge. It's within 1.1
miles of the Lakeland Motor Museum.
Newby Bridge, once a part of Lancashire, is a small village adjoining the River Leven at the southern end of Lake Windermere. It got its name from the five-arched stone bridge built across the river in 1651. It caters mainly for the passing tourist trade, and has a railway station on the preserved Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. Newby Bridge is a convenient base to explore the Furness peninsula and southern Lakeland areas.
