- This sign originally came from a Chemist shop in Atherton very close to the original factory site.
- Made from Vitreous enamel on cast iron sheet metal.
- R. Stotherts & Sons Ltd (later Stotherts LTD) was originally a firm of chemists founded by Richard Stothert (1830-1912) in Atherton Greater Manchester.
- They were well-known manufacturing chemists and wholesalers of medicines and beverages.
- The business was originally founded in 1852.
- Richard was an apprentice to a chemist in 1851 and worked and lived in Bolton.
- Highly sought after by collectors.
- Superb for a TV Film studio, theatre, stage, advert props shop or man cave home interior.
- For display indoors or outdoors.
- It has drill holes on each side ready for you to screw onto your wall, no screws are included you would need to buy the screws.
- Circa early 20th century.
